The Model EW-311 is a coarse cut hand-held beveler that is used to pre-bevel heavy carpets before you bind them. This unit is designed to fast cut loose piles and is not intended for use on loop piles or berbers. The Model EW-610 fine cut beveler is recommended for those applications.
